4 STEPS FOR DOING AN MRE STEP 1. CHOOSE THE CORRECT MRE, one that accurately targets the negative thought or stronghold in the thought life. Avoid the popular “scattergun” approach of mixing general scriptures which is of little value for effective mind renewal. A GENUINE MRE FOCUSES ENTIRELY ON ONE SINGLE TRUTH WHICH TARGETS ONE SPECIFIC NEGATIVE THOUGHT PATTERN. An MRE will target a specific fear. Such as fear of the dark, rather than just fear in general. STEP 2. READ YOUR MRE “day and night”. Mind renewal is not instantaneous. It’s a progressive miracle, a deep inner transforming work of the Holy Spirit. The bible says “If we sow, we shall reap” (GAL 6:7). “If we sow abundantly, we will reap abundantly. However, if we sow sparingly, we will reap sparingly” (2 COR 9:6). We reap in proportion to the time and effort spent sowing. We “sow” by “meditating in it day and night.” A good approach is to read your MRE’s once each morning and then again once each night for several weeks. STEP 3. USE YOUR MRE AT THE POINT OF ATTACK. That is what Jesus did when He used His “It is written” in the face of enemy attack. An MRE is God’s weapon of spiritual warfare for taking “negative enemy thoughts captive to the obedience of Christ.” Always have your MRE ready to use when an attack begins. Act quickly and aggressively with authority “casting down imaginations” (lies and negative thoughts). Continue reading your MRE until the enemy leaves no matter how long it takes. Read out loud where possible. The word of God has the power to outlast any enemy. STEP 4. READ YOUR MRE by faith and not by sight/feeling. I.e. putting it down because the flesh doesn’t feel like reading it. “Without faith it is impossible to please God.” Day and night meditation is AN ACT OF FAITH, highly pleasing to God. “This is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith!” (1 JOHN 5:4)
HEALING THROUGH MIND RENEWING EXERCISES (MRE’S) “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind” (ROM 12:2) The unrenewed mind is a source of strongholds, bondages, negative thought patterns, lies, wounds and blockages, which have carried over from our previous life outside Christ. Before salvation, God’s three enemies, the world, the flesh and the devil, sowed this evil into the old mind in an attempt to destroy our soul. Now, in Christ, we have been born anew in the spirit, but the soul with its old mind, old thinking and strongholds from the past, needs the transforming power of God to renew it and release victory and freedom into our daily lives. It is God’s will to heal and restore all the damage of the past. It is an essential part of God’s plan of salvation for every Christian to walk in freedom following the new birth. Salvation did not finish at the new birth – IT BEGAN AT THE NEW BIRTH! And continues everyday through the work of the Holy Spirit “sanctification”. “It was for freedom that Christ has made us free” (GAL 5:1) “Whom the Son sets free is free indeed” (JOHN 8:36) “For where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty” (2 COR 3:27) This part of the plan of salvation is called “sanctification” (freedom, transformation, renewal, spiritual growth, overcoming) and was purchased on the cross with the blood of Christ just as the new birth was (justification). Jesus died to set you free, not just in heaven, but right now, here on earth, through a new victorious, transformed life. “May the very God of peace sanctify you wholly, and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless into the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ”. (1 THES 5:23) Jesus said “I came to heal the broken hearted”, set at liberty those who are bruised”, and “deliver those who are imprisoned”. (LK 4:18) (EPH 5:25 – 27) Personalised says…. “Christ so loved You, that He gave Himself for You so that He might sanctify and cleanse You with the washing of water by the word and present You to Himself as a glorious Christian not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that You should by holy (whole) and without blemish”. This is God’s plan for every Christian through sanctification. The purpose of an MRE is to release that healing and transformation through the “renewing of the mind”. Jesus said “If you continue in my word, then you shall know the truth and the truth will make you free”. “Thy word is truth” (JOHN 17:17) “Knowing” the truth results in “being renewed in the spirit of your mind”. (EPH 4:23) “The entrance of thy word brings light” THAT ENTRANCE IS THROUGH THE MIND! God’s word contains the power to create a universe. The power in that word can transform an old mind. The word that gave you the miracle of a new birth, also gives you the miracle of a new life, and this miracle is released through the renewing of the mind. The mind is the gateway of the soul (not the eyes as mystics claim). It is what enters the mind that transforms the soul. When the word of God enters the mind, it’s light dispels the darkness that is there, and freedom, victory and healing takes place. However, the correct Biblical method must be used in order to release effective renewal in the mind. The first verse in the first Psalm reveals God’s method. Blessed is the man…. Whose delight is in the law (WORD OF GOD) and in this law (WORD OF GOD) does he meditate day and night.” (PSL 1:1 – 2) ESSENTIAL COMPONENTS OF A CORRECT MRE 1. A genuine MRE is one specific truth, not a mixed scripture list. It is a one specific truth delivered with depth and revelation. It is a highly targeted truth not a general one. The word of God must target one specific negative thought. In the wilderness Jesus defeated Satan’s most powerful lies with an “It is written”. Jesus did not use a general scripture. DELIVERANCE FROM THE SPIRIT OF NICOTINE(SMOKING) Lord Jesus I confess that I willingly engaged in smoking tobacco which is a witchcraft drug used by shamans, witchdoctors and sorcerers to incant demonic spirits and achieve demon possession. Your word says that all sorcerers (Gk PHARMAKIA – ‘drug takers’) will be excluded from your Kingdom (REV 22:15). I know that it was evil in your sight and I deeply repent of every single act of inhaling tobacco (PHARMAKIA) and ask for your forgiveness and cleansing from it in Jesus name (1 JOHN 1:9). I thank you for your full and complete forgiveness for every single act of PHARMAKIA and choose never to return to it again. In the authority and name of Jesus Christ I renounce the demonic spirit of Nicotine that entered me through tobacco smoking and command you to leave my body now! Spirit of Nicotine get out in Jesus name! I reject you and cut off your connection with me. I break all your grounds of legal entry into my life in the all-powerful name of Jesus Christ. I forbid you to re-enter my body and declare you have no more power over me from this day forward. Lord, I now ask you to heal me from every disease the spirit of Nicotine planted in my body. FREEDOM FROM NEGATIVE CONFESSIONS Negative confession creates major blockages to healing and deliverance in our lives. It prevents blessings of all kinds and aids enemy attacks. Jesus most repeated warning in the Bible is “O ye of little faith, why do you doubt?” is directed against this sin of negative confession. Making a negative confession is sin. Negative confession contains lack of faith, doubt, lies, false judgements, accusations, blame and complaining; the worst sins of the flesh. They are spiritual cesspools of evil in the sight of God. Negative confession is not merely a sin of the tongue – IT IS A SIN IN THE HEART within the person. Jesus said “out of the multitude of things that are in the heart, the mouth speaks”. The mouth releases what is stored up in the heart. A sin of negative confession is a sin in a person’s heart, not just a sin of the mouth. Jesus said “that which comes out of the mouth defiles a man” MATT 15:11 and again in verse 18. “the things which come out of the mouth come from within the heart and they defile the man”. Again, in verse 19 “for out of the heart proceed evil thoughts” How? By evil negative confessions! Negative confession is the practice of cursing. Negative confessions curse other people, curse God and ultimately curse the one speaking it. This results in a self-curse. Every curse spoken through a mouth of negative confession returns upon the head of the one who uttered it. Negative confessions are attacks against God. They carry the hidden suggestion that God is to blame for my situation and failures – God has failed, God has let me down, God has not come through for me. In this way I excuse myself from all responsibility, especially my greatest responsibility, which is TO HAVE FAITH IN GOD REGARDLESS OF MY SITUATION. “I can’t do it”, “It’s too hard”, “Why doesn’t God help me?”, “I want results now”, “It’s not fair”, “I want a fast-easy way out”. All these negative confessions are sins against God. Repentance is the only antidote to this evil. This sin can only be destroyed by renunciation from the same mouth that created it. A positive truth-based confession cancels out negative lie-based confessions because “speaking the truth in love we grow up into Him in all things” EPH 4:15. All things includes healing and all blessings. STEP 1: Repentance confessed from a true heart is needed to replace the negative confession spoken from the evil heart. STEP 2: Is to receive forgiveness for our sinful confessions. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness”. Forgiveness breaks the legal ground of enemy attacks coming through our negative words. STEP 3: Actively turning away from this sin and practice results in the cleansing from all unrighteousness that God promised – the experience of freedom from this evil. These 3 steps release the soul from the evil prison house of negative confession with all its self-fulfilling curses and brings our soul into the light. Light means freedom from darkness. REMEMBER Negative confessions are attacks against God. PRAYER LORD JESUS I CONFESS THAT I HAVE DONE EVIL IN YOUR SIGHT WITH MY MOUTH AND MY HEART IN THE NEGATIVE CONFESSION OF _______________. FREEDOM FROM PERFECTIONISM Lord Jesus, I thank You for loving me just as I am. Even at my worst, I have perfect acceptance with you. No matter how hard I try and how well I do, I cannot make you love me more. Because your love toward me is already perfect, I cannot add to it by anything I do. Even straight A’s will not make you love me more! And, straight failures cannot make you love me less! You granted me your total and final approval the day I received You as my Lord and Saviour. Even as a child who did not know You, Your arms of approval were always stretched out towards me. As Your child, You love me for who I am, not for what I can do. Please forgive me for refusing to accept Your perfect approval of me by believing I must add something to gain it. In doing this I have sinned against You and declared that Your acceptance is not perfect at all! Please forgive me for every thought or action I have taken in an attempt to increase Your approval of me. I repent of accepting Your perfect approval as it is – PERFECT! Thank You for Your unconditional love toward me as Your child – I will never doubt or reject it again in Jesus name, Amen.
INJUSTICE AND UNFAIR TREATMENT In Jesus name I choose to lay down all my rights to be treated with justice and fairness. Jesus suffered all my injustice on the cross and was crucified for all the unfair treatment in my life. I will no longer waste His shed blood for me by demanding that others must treat me fairly. Instead, I will join Jesus who gave up all His rights to justice to save me. I hand over all the pain of injustice and unfair treatment to Him as my pain bearer. I honor His sacrifice to set me free from injustice by laying down all my rights to justice from anyone except Jesus alone. I refuse to demand justice from anyone. I willingly accept all unfairness and honor Jesus sacrifice for me instead. I lay down all my rights for any justice / fairness in this earthly life and join with Jesus on His cross, sharing all my injustices with Him, and bringing joy to His heart that His blood was not wasted on me. I will reward Him by laying down all my rights to fair treatment forever in Jesus mighty name. Amen!
KEYS TO FORGIVENESS 1. Our attitude of heart is more important than just having the correct formula! “Blessed are the pure in heart, they shall see God” (Matthew 5:8) 2. Forgiveness is an act of humility just as unforgiveness is the act of a proud heart. Therefore, brokenness is essential in any genuine act of forgiveness “a broken and a contrite heart I will not despise” (Psalm 51:17) “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, You will not despise.” 3. Negative emotions (fear, bitterness, anger, revenge, hardness, arrogance, unwillingness) block the healing flow of forgiveness. Negative emotions must be broken by an act of our will--- “I choose to forgive”. We move in truth and obedience to forgive, not emotion. We don’t have to feel good to forgive, because forgiveness is an act of faith, not feeling. Forgiveness is not a feeling, it’s an action! “we walk by faith, not by sight” (feelings). 4. Renounce all ungodly desires for revenge or punishment, both before and during forgiving. - Renounce all your rights for Justice in the situation and hand over judgment to God alone! - Choose mercy just as Jesus did for you when you justly deserve to be punished. “I will have mercy and not judgement”. Micah 6:8 “He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” Isaiah 58:6 “Is not this the fast that I choose: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the straps of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke?” Isaiah 58:8 Then shall your light break forth like the dawn, and your healing shall spring up speedily; your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard”. Matthew 7:1 “Judge not, that you be not judge”. 5. Be specific • Name the person • Name the offence • Name the primary emotion – “How it made me feel at the time” • Then cancel the debt completely! Just as Christ did for you. 6. Repent and renounce your own sins first. Yes, your sin! (Matthew 7:3). The greatest sin a Christian can commit is not to forgive! Bitterness, hatred and anger reveals the sin of unforgiveness hidden in the heart. Your unforgiveness is always a worse sin in God’s eyes than the offense you suffered. Don’t stop half way. Your heart, mind and conscience must be completely cleansed until you can look your offender in the face with only the love of Jesus left. You can love the sinner, yet hate the sin. Matthew 6:15 - “but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Isaiah 58:6, 8 - “Undo the heavy burdens, let the oppressed go free, and break every yoke. Then your light shall break forth as the morning and thy health shall spring forth speedily.”
PRAYER FOR RECEIVING FORGIVENESS
Lord Jesus I thank You that You died on the cross for me personally so that I could receive Your full and perfect pardon from every single sin of the past.
I thank You that because You are perfect Your forgiveness is perfect and there is no sin in existence no matter how evil that Your perfect forgiveness cannot destroy forever.
I now come to ask You for Your perfect forgiveness.

PRAYER OF RELEASE FROM PORNOGRAPHY I renounce the sin of pornography as I know it’s evil and offensive in your sight. Please forgive me for turning my back on You Lord, each time I bow down to the evil spirit of pornography. Forgive me and cleanse me from this darkness in my mind, emotions, will and body. Cleanse my spirit from it’s evil curse. I reject the spirit of pornography and refuse to be its willing slave any longer. I will serve Jesus only not you unclean spirit of pornography. Jesus defeated you on the cross. He broke your power over me on the cross. Now I am going to honour His sacrifice by enforcing His victory for me on the cross by kicking you out of my life and trampling you under my feet. I am not your slave. Jesus made me your master so I can completely destroy you in my life and give Jesus all the glory. Get out of my mind get out of my desires, go back to the darkness you came from. Jesus is my Lord. NOT YOU! PRAYER I now take the sword of the spirit and cut off every one of your controlling tentacles in my mind, emotions, will and body, I destroy every unclean image and picture in my old mind with the sword of the spirit and command it to leave and never return. I bind and destroy every unclean thought desire and temptation satan sends to me in the all-powerful name of Jesus Christ. Demon of pornography I declare you to be defeated, you have been my enemy. I now declare that I am your enemy. There can only be one winner in this war. I am that winner in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, by His blood and through the power of His spirit which defeated you 2000 years ago on the cross. AMEN!

THE SPIRIT OF SUBMISSION “Rebellion is as the sin of Witchcraft” 1 Samuel 15:23 Submission to genuine authority figures in the Body of Christ is the Biblical proof of my submission to God. As every Christian knows, submission to God’s Word is the proof of our submission directly to God in person. Those who disobey God’s Word are those who disobey God Himself! The Word is visible proof we are obeying the invisible God. Christ’s new commandment ‘to love one another’ was given specifically for the purpose of providing proof that we are keeping the first commandment ‘to love God with all your heart, mind and soul. The Pharisees heavy religious practices enabled them to claim that they were fulfilling the first commandment until Christ came and added his condition of proof ‘love for one another’. Love of others proves our love for God which is genuine, not pharisaical pretense. The apostle John made Christ’s commandment plain to the first church. “If anyone says ‘I love God’ yet hates his brother, he is lying. If he cannot love his brother whom he can see, how can he love God whom he cannot see? And this is the commandment we have from Him that whoever loves God must prove it by loving his brother.” – 1 John 4:20-21 Now that we understand the spiritual principle that obedience to the visible (the Word) is the proof of obedience to the invisible (God), and love of the visible (our brother) is the proof of our love for the invisible (God). It is easy to see that the Bible teaches that submission to the visible (genuine leaders) is the proof of our true submission to the invisible (God).
